Tuition

$15 per session or $80 for a 6 session punch card
*You can reserve a spot or drop in, but no more than 6 students will be accepted per day. Drop ins are taken on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Teacher information: BSED in English Literature from the University of Georgia. Several years teaching experience and a current Georgia Teaching Certificate.

Preschool Classes in September!

Heather Mathews will be beginning Preschool Story and Art and Preschool Music and Movement classes in September.

Story and Art (3-4, under 2 accepted with an adult present) will run 12:45 – 1:45 and will consist of a story followed by an art or craft project related to the story.

Music and Movement (ages 2-4) will run from 1:50 – 2:45 and we will use music, instruments, imagination and creative movement to express ourselves and burn some energy!

First semester begins Tuesday, Sept. 7th.

Story and Art: $50 per month or $140 per semester
Music and Movement: $45 per month or $125 per semester

Saturday, August 14th, we’ll be having a special double-signing at 1 p.m. in the afternoon. Author Alan Oberdeck will be in to sign his latest book, The Vancouver Rendezvous, second in his Deer/Dear Hunt series. Also, we’ll have Madison artist extraordinaire Karen Strelecki in to sign copies of Claudia Bishop’s Toast Mortem. While that might sound odd, Karen is the cover artist for the latest book in the Hemlock Falls mystery series. Here’s a copy of the cover. Come by and say hello Saturday.

Book signing with Cindy Boerma and Deena Eberhardt, teachers at Athens Academy. The book is a hilarious compilation of saying compiled by the two of their four-year-old students. Cindy and Deena will be signing books from 1-3 p.m.

Don Rhodes Thursday!

Author Don Rhodes is coming to the bookstore Thursday night, April 22nd at 7 p.m. to discuss his latest book Georgia: Mysteries and Legends. The book discusses 14 tales from Georgia including that of strongwoman Lula Hurst (above) of Madison, The Georgia Wonder. Don will discuss Lula and then answer questions with a wine and cheese reception.

Celebrate Earth Day with Herbs on the Porch April 17th

In celebration of Earth Day, local herb grower Curtis Yaun, purveyor of fine herbs and salts, will be creating a container herb garden for kids on the porch all morning, Saturday, April 17th. Children must bring their own container (a pot, gallon jug, etc.) and Curtis will provide the herbs and the know-how. The cost is $15 for the first child and $5 for additional children. Curtis will be working from 10 am until 1 or 2, so feel free to drop by at any time as the workshop will be ongoing.
